A JOURNEY OF GROWTH FOR SELF AND FOR MISSION  

2-week Programme for Sisters Preparing for Final Profession: 21 August to 4 September 2023 @ Good Shepherd Convent Restful Waters, Singapore

On 20 August 2023, we warmly welcomed Sr Faustina, Sr Rose, Sr Bernadette and Sr Francesca to Singapore.  It felt like a heartfelt homecoming as they had all previously spent a year of international community experience with us in Singapore.

Joining them in this journey of Communion, Connectedness and Change were Sr Assumpta and Sr Myriam, who had arrived earlier to attend the “Winning Hearts and Minds Through Impactful Communication” programme. 

The themes for the two-week programme included:

• Personal integration of life experiences
• Listening and sharing of experiences, hopes, dreams, and challenges
• Weaving meaningful conversations
• Stages in personal growth
• Cultivating self-confidence
• Accompaniment
• Engaging in theological reflection

• Fostering teamwork
• Embracing partnership for mission

LIVING THE CHALLENGES OF RELIGIOUS LIFE IN MISSION TODAY

• Deepen the relationship with God and others
• Life in community

THE CALL OF JUSTICE TODAY

• Exploring Integral Ecology
• Building networks

This experience proved to be both enriching and life changing.  Their zeal and commitment to the Good Shepherd Mission and the people they served were beyond doubt.  The camaraderie among them, their eagerness to learn and their unwavering faith in God were truly remarkable.

The Sisters returned home to Vietnam on 5 September, we wish them all the best as they continue their preparation towards their final profession.  We pray for them, and we look forward to celebrating with them (even from afar) on the occasion of their Final Profession on 9 November 2023.
